A Japanese Affair with Pol Roger

This is a concept I have been wanting to bring to life for a long time.
After many years spent living in both France and Japan, I have long appreciated how beautifully the precision and elegance of Japanese cuisine align with champagne, and I’m delighted to now share that vision with you.
For this special luncheon, we will gather at IPPIN Japanese Dining, where a carefully curated menu will be paired with a selection of Champagne Pol Roger – a house renowned for its structure, elegance, and depth.
While this may be a departure from our traditional European-style lunches, the intention remains exactly the same: to create a relaxed, refined experience centred around exceptional champagne, thoughtful food, and meaningful conversation.
Throughout the afternoon, we will explore how the purity, texture, and umami of Japanese cuisine interact with the precision and balance of Pol Roger’s cuvées – often in ways that are surprising and deeply harmonious.
Our guest of honour for the day will be 2018 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, Pol Roger’s most iconic expression, which will take centre stage as part of the experience.
As always, this will be a convivial long lunch, hosted in my signature style – elegant, engaging, and designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.
A non-alcoholic option will be available for those who would simply like to enjoy the atmosphere.
